Sidewalk Hustle is a three day event in The Hague that serves as a warm homecoming for creatives in Hiphop, R&B, Jazz & Soul. Join us in celebration of art, music and a close-knit, supportive community.
We invite everyone to enjoy the opening of the three-day exhibition Sidewalk Portraits. In showcasing Bart Sturings’ 8 projections, Hit & Run Vintage Store‘s designer items and Nas Hosen‘s photography series we honour the beauty of everyday life within migrant communities. Furthermore, we’ve put together a special line-up consisting of fresh musical talent and DJ’s from across the scene.
This is our call to musicians and music lovers to join a jam session, hosted by House of Knowledge and led by Bnnyhunna. Play along or listen in and observe the spontaneous magic that arises when a diverse array of talent gets together in a free spirited, welcoming setting.
Up your business skills and hone your craft with workshops by ‘Wat is die Mo?’. Within this workshop-series musical artists are presented with the valuable opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the professional music scene together with some of the best experts active in the contemporary music industry.

How to brand yourself
In this masterclass Camila Alvarez shares her knowledge on how you can develop your brand as an artist. How do you position yourself? How do you market to your audience? And what is your unique selling point as an artist? It might be tempting to do it all on your own but there are some serious benefits that come with working with a brand expert. Camila will not only tell you what a brand manager at a label does but also how you can find one to boost your career. During her 5 years as Brand Manager Hiphop at Warner Music Benelux she worked with local and international artists including Cho, Dopebwoy, Burna Boy and Jack Harlow to create creative campaigns and streaming- and PR strategies.
Songwriting from a composing perspective
Many artists want to work with a producer or composer and contribute their own lyrics and compositions. Unfortunately, it’s unclear to many artists how to work with someone else to create a song. Do you enter a collaboration without any ideas, or do you make sure that you have a crystal clear idea of what the final product should look like? In this interactive songwriting masterclass, you learn how to write a song from a composing perspective. Your instructor, Rafaël Maijnard, has collaborated with artists in the Dutch R&B/HipHop/Pop scene like Ronnie Flex, Yade Lauren, Kevin, Katnuf, Maan, Jonna Fraser. Through improvisation, he’ll teach you everything you need to know.
Creating from flow
As an artist you’ll have to pave your own path if you want to hone your craft. Flow plays a big part in creativity, deepening the creative process, discovering your creative identity and even the successes of your favorite artists. Note that creative blocks are also part of your journey. Understanding what types of creative blocks can occur and learning techniques to break through stagnation in the creative process can help with overcoming them. Talent Developer and Creative Director Rakesh Kanhai works on live shows with artists including The Opposites, Boef, Naaz, Mula B, Jay-Way. In this workshop he’ll teach you the importance of routine and discipline to get the creative results you’re looking for.
